From 29 April — 1 May 2012, His Excellency Mr. Janos Martonyi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, will pay an official visit to Thailand as guest of the Foreign Ministry.
The visit by the Hungarian Foreign Minister aims to promote and strengthen Thai-Hungarian relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment and tourism. Apart from the meeting with his counterpart, Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul, the Hungarian Foreign Minister is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittiratt na Ranong. The visiting Minister will be accompanied by representatives from Hungary water-management firms to share their experience with the Thai side. The visit will also be coincided and be part of the celebrations of the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Siam and the Austro-Hungarian Empire as well as the 100th anniversary of the establishment of its Legation in Bangkok.
