Foreign Minister attends Mourning Ceremony of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia

On 19 June 2012, on behalf of the Royal Thai Government, Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul attended the mourning ceremony on the occasion of the passing away of Crown Prince Naif bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this connection, he was granted an audience with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the new Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at Qasr Al Salam Palace.

Foreign Minister Surapong presented the Royal Letter from Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand to the new Crown Prince. He expressed his deepest condolences and participated in the mourning ceremony on behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand upon this great loss for Saudi Arabia. He also extended full admiration of the former Crown Prince for his role in promoting national security and stability of the Arabian Gulf Region during the past 50 years as Minister of the Interior of Saudi Arabia.
