Official Visit to Tanzania of the Prime Minister of Thailand 30 July — 1 August 2013

H.E. Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, is scheduled to pay an official visit to the United Republic of Tanzania on 30 July — 1 August 2013.

The Prime Minister will have a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of Tanzania, to discuss and exchange views onbilateral cooperation including trade and investment, tourism, wildlife conservation, technical cooperation, and other issues of mutual interest, as well as multilateral cooperation, with an aim to raise Thai — Tanzanian relations towards enhanced development partnership. The Prime Minister will give a keynote address at the Thailand - Tanzania Forum on Thailand’s foreign policy on Africa and the Thai - African Initiative as a long-term platform for dialogue between Thailand and Africa. The Prime Minister will also announce the High - Level Dialogue meeting between Thai and African Leaders to be held in Thailand early next year. Meetings between Thai and Tanzanian private sectors will also be held at the Thailand - Tanzania Forum.

During this visit, there will be the signing of six Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), namely (1) On Technical Cooperation (2) On Cooperation in National Park and Wildlife Management (3) On the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments (4) On Cooperation in the area of Geology and Mineral Resources (5) On Cooperation in Food Security, Agricultural Products and Commodities and (6) On Cooperation in the area of Gem and Jewelry.
