Official Visit to Uganda of the Prime Minister of Thailand 1 August 2013

H.E. Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, is scheduled to pay an official visit to the Republic of Uganda on 1 August 2013.

The Prime Minister will have a meeting with H.E. Mr. Yoweri KagutaMuseveni, President of Uganda, to discuss and exchange views on bilateral cooperation including trade and investment, energy, technical cooperation, and other issues of mutual interest as well as multilateral cooperation with an aim to raise Thai—Ugandan relations towards enhanced development partnership. The Prime Minister will invite the Ugandan President to participate in the High - Level Dialogue between Thai and African Leaders to be held in Thailand early next year. This Meeting is to be hosted by Thailand under the Thai-African Initiative, which will offer a long-term platform for dialogue between Thailand and Africa. Thai and Ugandan private sectors will also have the opportunity to meet during this visit.

During this visit, there will be the signing of three Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), namely (1) On Technical Cooperation (2) On Cooperation in Food Security, Trade and Investment in Agricultural Products and Commodities and (3) Between the Board of Trade of Thailand and the Private Sector Foundation Uganda.
