Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed representatives from private sector and discussed ways to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation between Thailand and Saudi Arabia
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed with representatives from private sector on ways to promote cooperation between Thailand and Saudi Arabia, and to organise a Trade Mission comprising government officials and Thai private sectors to visit Saudi Arabia.
On 7 February 2022, Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), led a high level delegation of representatives from leading Thai private sector in various fields to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both sides exchanged views and ideas on ways to promote economic, trade and investment relations between Thailand and Saudi Arabia, after the normalisation of the relations between the two countries following the official visit of the Prime Minister to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 25 January 2022.
The Meeting discussed the potential areas and sectors for cooperation between Thailand and Saudi Arabia including hospitality, tourism, energy, automotive industry, construction, and human resource management. The meeting also stressed the importance and the complementary nature of the Bio-Circular-Green Economy Model (BCG) and the Saudi Vision 2030 policy.
On this occasion, the meeting also discussed the possibility of organising a Trade Mission to be headed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, comprising government officials and representative of leading Thai private sector, to visit Saudi Arabia at the end of February 2022 to meet with their counterparts in Saudi Arabia and directly discuss ways to promote cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries.
