First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Professors who have just informed the purpose and methodology of the Medical Congress in the celebration of His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary 5th December 2007. It is indeed my pleasure to be assigned by the Foreign Minister to host the reception today and on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Organizing Committee, let me welcome distinguished speakers from the US and other countries, as well as every participant from provinces nationwide.
Distinguished guests,
We all have wholeheartedly felt grateful for His Majesty’s sacrifice for his subjects. He is a genuine example for everyone in working ethics. In regard to medical science and public health, he always cares for his subjects’ good health and has been a great supporter of medical research in foreign countries. He granted a royal permission to create Prince Mahidol Award discerned to worldwide recognized individuals or organizations in the field of medical science and public health. He presents the awards himself every year. I would like to point out to you that Prince Mahidol Award 2007 Presentation also takes place on this auspicious day.
The Medical Congress is the first official cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ramathibodi Hospital to pay homage to His Majesty’s sacrifice and celebrating His Majesty’s 80th Birthday Anniversary.
Distinguished d guests,
I have confidence that this congress will bring about a new dimension of medical and public health’s advancement as well as knowledge for more efficient treatment including medical standardization. The findings from the congress will help upgrade living qualities of people at the grassroot level. In this regard, His Majesty’s commitment to better livelihood of the Thai people will be achieved.
I would like to thank the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, the Organizing Committee of the Medical Congress and all parties concerned. Apart from being an important annual congress in the field of medical science and public health, the congress in 2008 will be held in parallel with the free health check-up and advice service for the general public. This service is added for the tangible benefits for people.
May I now declare open the Medical Congress 2008 and hope that the congress will bear fruits to every participant. Let’s work “Together for the Better Health”. May I wish you all happiness, prosperity, and excellent health.
