Both sides exchanged views on the Thai-Egyptian education cooperation. Currently, there are approximately 2,600 Thai students studying in Egypt and Al Azhar University also had cooperation programs with Prince of Songkhla University and Princess of Naradhiwas University.
Regarding economic relations, the Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister sought to increase trade value between the two countries by requesting Thailand for more import and investment in Egypt. The Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister also requested Thailand to host the 3rd Joint Commission Meeting while the Thai Foreign Minister expressed his hope that the two countries would be able to establish a Joint Business Council soon.
Foreign Minister Noppadon explained the Royal Thai Government’s reconciliation measures to resolve the situation in the southern border provinces and expressed the belief that this would be achieved peacefully.
After the meeting, the Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister attended the 3rd Consultation Meeting between Thai and Egyptian Foreign Ministries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
