On 20 March 2008, Mr. Norachit Sinhaseni, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, together with Mr. Vitthaya Vejjajiva, President of the Council of Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP), Thailand, presided over and delivered opening remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the Seminar on Thailand’s Security Situations and Challenges: Perspectives from Public, Private, and Academic Sectors. Co-organized by Office of Policy and Planning of the Foreign Ministry, CSCAP of Thailand, and Saranrom Institute of Foreign Affairs, the Seminar served as a forum for all sectors in Thailand to share their views, knowledge, and perspectives about security situations and challenges in the Kingdom.
The seminar, being held from 20-21 March 2008 at Siam City Hotel, comprised lectures and discussions by distinguished scholars and experts. It was well attended by approximately 100-120 individuals from related agencies within public, private, civil society, and academic sectors in Thailand.
