On 9 April 2008, Mr. Noppadon Pattama, Minister of Foreign Affairs, launched the airing of the regionally produced “Nourished by the Same River” documentary jointly produced by television stations in Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.
“Nourished by the Same River” jointly produced by the 6 Greater Mekong Sub-Regional (GMS) grouping, took over 2 years to film. The documentary highlights the lives and culture of the peoples who have benefited from one of Asia’s and the world’s earliest cradles of civilization.
Foreign Minister Noppadon chaired the launching ceremony at the Siam Niramit Theatre witnessed by Ambassadors and members of the GMS diplomatic corps. The Thai Foreign Minister emphasized the Thai government’s dedication to the “prosper thy neighbor” policy with 3Cs namely Connectivity, Competitiveness, and Community. He also underlined the government’s belief that a stronger neighbor reverberates into a stronger region and a stronger Thailand.
“Nourished by the Same River” will air on Channel Modern 9 TV (MCOT) from 28 April on Monday at 10 p.m. The 20 part series is sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP).
