The 1st Political Consultation Senior Official Meeting between Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation
On 7 May 2008 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Charivat Santaputra, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, led the Thai delegation to attend the 1st Political Consultation Senior Official Meeting between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Morocco, joined by Mr.Omar Hilale, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Morocco, who led the delegation from Morocco.
On this occasion, both sides agreed to strengthen the bilateral relations between Thailand and Morocco, especially in terms of academic and economic cooperation. The proposal for the exchange of high-level visits and the finalization of 7 pending Agreements between Thailand and Morroco were also discussed. Moreover, Thai and Moroccan private sectors will have the formal exchange of visit during June-July 2008 and will accordingly sign an MOU on Joint Business Council.
After the meeting, Deputy Permanent Secretary Charivat hosted luncheon for the Secretary General Hilale who later presented the former with the invitation letter for Mr. Noppadon Pattama, Thai Foreign Minister.to visit Morocco from Mr. Ta?b Fassi-FIHRI, Moroccan Foreign Minister.
The 1st Thai-Moroccan Political Consultation Senior Official Meeting is considered one of various frameworks for both countries to deepen their bilateral relations. Thailand and Morocco are ready to develop further their existing cordial relations and looking forward to working closely with the common aim to bring mutual prosperity to their peoples.
