On Friday, 29 August 2008, the first group of eight Thai Muslim students, selected as Bahrain Government’s scholarship grantees along with officials from Southern Border Province Administration (SBPA), were received in a courtesy call by Dr.Manaspas Xuto, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Manaspas wished all the grantees every success in their studies. He also advised them to be attentive to their studies and to have proper conduct as they are representatives of Thailand.
This year is the first year that H.H. Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has granted scholarships for Thai Muslim students from the Southern provinces to study at the University of Bahrain in the fields of engineering, business administration and information technology. The students will start their first semester in Bahrain this September.
