Thai and foreign media are invited to register for accreditation to cover the 14th ASEAN Summit and other related meetings in Bangkok during 13-18 December 2008 online from now until 30 November 2008 at www.14thASEANSummit.org. The procedure for media accreditation is as follows:
1. Each media representative completes and submits an online media registration form. Visiting media representatives should ensure that their passports have validity of no less than 6 months upon their entry into Thailand.
2. The following attachments are required for online media registration:
2.1 Color passport-sized photograph with 300 dpi resolution or above (jpeg, tiff, gif or bitmap file)
2.2 Letter of assignment (doc, jpeg or pdf file)
2.3 Copy of Press Card issued by the Thai Government Pubic Relations Department or Affiliation ID Card (jpeg, tiff, gif or bitmap file)
2.4 List of equipment brought into Thailand (Visiting media ONLY)
3. Applicants will automatically receive a confirmation e-mail upon submitting the registration form. Once the form is processed (it takes approximately 14 working days) and approved, the 14th ASEAN Summit Media Secretariat will send an accreditation letter to the e-mail address as indicated by the media representative in the registration form. Visiting media, who need a visa for traveling to Thailand, should present this accreditation letter to the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General in their respective country for issuance of type M-visa (Single Entry).
4. Accreditation Passes and Media Kits can be collected at the Media Centre, located on FL8 of ZEN Department Store (ZEN Event Gallery), from 14.00 hrs on 12 December 2008 onward.
5. In order to best facilitate the registration and coverage of the media representatives for the 14th ASEAN Summit and related meetings, the 14th ASEAN Summit Media Secretariat highly recommends online media registration.
6. The Media Secretariat does not recommend onsite registration (only open during 13-15 December 2008) at the Media Centre as it will take at least 6 hours for document verification before accreditation can be granted. Additionally, as only a limited number of Media Kits will be available, priority will be given to those media representatives who have registered online.
