Media Registration for the 42nd AMM/PMC and the 16th ARF Phuket, 17-23 July 2009

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand invites members of the Thai and foreign media who wish to cover the 42nd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM), Post Ministerial Conferences (PMC) and the 16th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) to be held at Sheraton Grande Laguna and Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket during 17-23 July 2009 to register online at www.42ammpmc.org. The online media registration is open from 1-10 July 2009. The procedure is as follows:

1. A media member submits a duly completed online media registration form with the following ttachments (file sizes should not exceed 500 KB):

1.1 Passport-sized color photograph at 300 dpi resolution

1.2 Valid affiliation ID card or Press Card issued by the Thai Government Public Relations Department

1.3 Letter of Assignment addressed to “The Media Secretariat of 42nd AMM/PMC and 16th ARF” and undersigned by the Editor or an authorized representative of the media agency. Only one letter should be issued by each agency, including the names and positions of all media members who will actually represent the agency during the Summit.

  • Media members who holds the 14th ASEAN Summit accounts can reactivate their accreditations through their accounts at www.42ammpmc.org during the online registration period. Reactivation of accreditations will only be effective with an attachment of up-to-date Letter of Assignment that states clearly the new dates of the 42nd AMM/PMC and the 16th ARF in Phuket.

After submission, the media member will automatically receive an Acknowledgement Letter through the e-mail address indicated in the registration form.

2. The Accreditation Letter will be sent to the same e-mail address as soon as the registration/reactivation is processed and approved. The Accreditation Letter contains Media ID of four-digit numbers (M-XXXX).

3. The media member collects a Media Pass and Media Kit at the Media Centre, located at Lobby Level, Laguna Beach Resort, during 17-22 July 2009 between 08:00-19:00 hrs and 23 July 2009 between 08:00-12:00 hrs. To collect the Media Pass, the media member must present the Accreditation Letter with valid photo ID card.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes media members to note the following:

  • Visiting media members must ensure that their passports remain valid for no less than 6 months upon their entry into Thailand.
  • Visiting media members who need a visa for travel to Thailand must present the Accreditation Letter to any Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General in their respective country for issuance of type M-visa (Single Entry) in addition to the documents normally required for visa issuance.
  • The Media Secretariat does NOT accept any online registration or postal registration beyond the deadline of 10 July 2009.
  • The Media Secretariat does NOT recommend onsite registration at the Media Centre, only available during 17-22 July 2009 between 08:00-19:00 hrs and 23 July 2009 between 08:00-12:00 hrs. Document verification at the Media Centre requires at least 6 hours before accreditation can be granted. Additionally, as only a limited number of Media Kits will be available, priority will be given to those media representatives who have registered online.
