The Royal Thai Government has decided to contribute USD 30,000 in humanitarian assistance for the relief efforts to the displaced Pakistanis, which will be handed over to the Government of Pakistan through the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad.

Following an ongoing battle, which has been taking place in the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan since early May 2009, about 2 million Pakistani civilians have been displaced. In an endeavor to mitigate the enormous suffering of those who have been affected, the international community and international organizations have continually pledged humanitarian assistance to the victims, both in cash and in kind. It is estimated that in order for the rehabilitation and reconstruction process to meet the targeted aims, an enormous relief fund will be needed.
