Foreign Minister launches roundtable on role of Thai women
On 25 August 2009, Mr. Kasit Piromya, Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the opening ceremony of a Roundtable on “Advancement and Contributions of Thai Women to Society, as Inspired by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit.”
The Foreign Minister delivered welcoming remarks to the audiences, praising the Queen as a role model for Thai women, and expressing his gratitude for her contributions to Thai society.
The Roundtable, organized to celebrate the 77th Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty and her work on behalf of the Thai people, was aimed at raising awareness of the advancement of Thai women and their role in the betterment of society, including in such areas as medicine and public health, women’s rights, and environmental protection.
