New Estonian Ambassador pays a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Kasit

On 7 October 2009, Mr. Andres Unga, Estonian Ambassador to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya on the occasion of his assumption of duties in the Kingdom at the Foreign Ministry. Gist as follows:

Foreign Minister Kasit congratulated Ambassador Unga and mentioned about his meeting with Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet, during the 9th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Hanoi last May. Foreign Minister Kasit expressed his wish to visit countries in Europe next year to further enhance their cooperation with Thailand.

Ambassador Unga expressed his appreciation to the close and cordial bilateral relations between the two countries over the past 17 years. He reiterated Estonia readiness to work and enhance cooperation with Thailand, especially in trade. He was of the view that the exchanges of high level visits between the two countries would strengthen the relations and cooperation in various areas.

In addition, both sides also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, such as issues of ICT, in which Estonia has expertise, forest conservation, culture and international situations.
