Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry to preside over the annual Royal Kathina ceremony in Roi Et

On 31 October 2009, Mr. Virasakdi Futrakool, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will preside over the annual Royal Kathina ceremony at Wat Klang Ming Muang, Muang District, Roi Et Province. The ceremony will be attended by high ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as from Roi Et Province.

The Royal Kathina is the Royal robe bestowed by the King or on His behalf, by public as well as private sectors, to Royal Temples. The Royal Kathina usually takes place after the 6th day of the waning moon in the 11th month of the Thai Lunar Calendar or after the first Royal Kathina has been granted by the King.
