On 12 January 2010, Mrs. Simarak na Nakon Panom and her son, Mr. Siwarak Chutipong, Thai engineer previously detained by the Cambodian authority called on Mr. Kasit Piromya, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Foreign Ministry to thank the Ministry for the assistance extended to her son during his detention.
Mrs. Simarak expressed her gratitude to the Foreign Ministry for coordinating with various agencies concerned during the incident. Foreign Minister Kasit congratulated Mrs. Simarak’s family for the unraveling of the incident and inquired about their well-being. He also wished them luck and success in the coming years.
