New Indian Ambassador pays a courtesy call on Foreign Minister

On 5 February 2010, Mr. Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty, Indian Ambassador to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya on the occasion of his assumption of duties in the Kingdom at the Foreign Ministry.

Foreign Minister Kasit affirmed Thailand’s intention to expand the volume of trade and investment between both countries. The Royal Thai government has introduced Indian market to the Thai businessmen and through economic roadshow, recently-organized. He also encouraged more investment from India, the people-to-people relations, the cooperation on communication and culture, and tourism promotion between both countries.

In addition, both sides exchanged views on various issues, including exchange of official visits by Prime Ministers of two countries, and the meeting of Thai - Indian Joint Commission to be held in India this year.
