The Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the East Asia Academic Cooperation Council (EACC) of Thailand, will be holding the “International Conference on Changing Global Landscape and Its Implications on Regional Architecture,” on Friday, 5 March 2010, during 08.30-17.30 hrs. at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World.

The conference aims to provide an opportunity for the participants to exchange views on the impact from the change in East Asia, resulting from the major events that affected global landscape in political, economic and social dimensions during the past few decades. Moreover, the emerging challenges and internal developments in East Asia, i.e. the ASEAN Community building to be realized in 2015, also play a significant role in the change of regional structure. As a country in the region, Thailand will inevitably be affected by such changes and will need proper policies and strategies to cope with these challenges. The conference will therefore be a forum to discuss the said matter.

The interested media and public are invited to participate in the conference, of which background, programme and registration form are attached herewith. Those who wish to participate are requested to complete the registration form and send to the Department of ASEAN Affairs by Friday, 26 February 2010.
