On 22 February 2010, Colonel Nopadon Mungkalaton, Military Adviser of Thailand’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York delivered a statement on behalf of ASEAN at the General Debate of the Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations, at the United Nations Headquater.
Col. Nopadon reiterated the significance of UN peacekeeping operations and ASEAN’s readiness to support the said missions which facing new challenges in modern conflict environments. ASEAN agreed to support the improving of peacekeeping operations’ logistics support strategy to be more efficient, as well as the reforming for stronger and reliable partnerships.
