Thai Ambassador to Beijing calls on Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of China regarding the recent earthquake in Qinghai Province
On 21 April 2010, Mr. Rathakit Manathat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the People’s Republic of China called on Mr. Hu Zhengyue, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, to forward the sympathy messages expressing condolences for the recent massive earthquake in Yushu County, Qinghai Province from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand to Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People’s Republic of China; from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People’s Republic of China; from Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister of Thailand to Mr. Wen Jiabao, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and from Mr. Kasit Piromya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand to Mr. Yang Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
Ambassador Rathakit also presented a letter of intent informing that the Royal Thai Government wishes to donate an amount of USD 100,000 to the Government of the People’s Republic of China to support the relief effort and restoration project in Qinghai Province of the Chinese Government.
Assistant Minister Hu conveyed message to Ambassador Rathakit that the Chinese Government is deeply grateful to the benevolence of H.M. the King and the Queen, H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, as well as the Government and People of Thailand towards the bereaved Chinese on this irreparable loss. Moreover, the Chinese Government also feels truly thankful for the donation of RMB 100,000 from H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to further help the people in the disaster area.
