The Director of OISCA pays a courtesy call on Foreign Minister

On 12 July 2010, Dr. Yoshiko Takano, Director of Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement (OISCA), led the representatives of the OISCA to pay a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya to introduce the activities of the organization in Thailand.

OISCA is the first private voluntary organization in Japan which was founded in 1961, with the vision of improving the living quality of humanity, particularly in the areas of cooperation and educational assistance, development and preservation of ecological sustainability. At present, OISCA has its offices in more than 100 Asia-Pacific countries. Furthermore, the “Consultative Status: Category I” of the United Nations was also granted to the organization in 1995.

On this occasion, Dr. Takano expressed her appreciation to the local administrative mechanisms in Thailand that supported various OISCA projects such as reforestation in Surin Province and the mangrove swamps restoration in Chanthaburi, Chumphon and Ranong Provinces. She also affirmed that OISCA would continue collaborating and supporting the Young Ambassador of Virtue Project, which was initiated by the Thai Foreign Ministry.
