Foreign Minister Kasit hosts a farewell reception to four Ambassadors

On 10 August 2010, at the Foreign Ministry, Mr. Kasit Piromya, Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted a farewell reception for Mr. El Hassane Zahid, Ambassador of Morocco to Thailand, Mr. Mohamed Ashraf Mohamed Kamal, Ambassador of Egypt to Thailand, Mr. Hafeez Mohammed Salem, Ambassador of Kuwait to Thailand, and Mr. Cinar Aldemir, Ambassador of Turkey to Thailand, on the completion of their respective assignments to the Kingdom of Thailand.

Foreign Minister Kasit expressed his profound appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the Ambassadors in promoting the relationships between Thailand and their respective countries. He reiterated that, as friends of Thailand, the Ambassadors could play an important role in being a spokesperson of the country who can provide correct understanding of the Thai political situation and its economy to the international community. Foreign Minister Kasit also extended his best wishes to all of the Ambassadors and wished them every success in their new assignment.

Prior to the reception, Foreign Minister Kasit held bilateral talks with the Moroccan and Kuwaiti Ambassadors in respective sessions. The Moroccan Ambassador took this opportunity to thank the Foreign Minister and the Foreign Ministry’s officials for their continuous support and cooperation during his term in Thailand. He also noted that the Thai and Moroccan Governments are expected to sign a number of bilateral agreements in the near future which will promote closer collaboration between the two Kingdoms.

During the meeting with the Kuwaiti Ambassador of Kuwait, Foreign Minister Kasit reaffirmed to the Ambassador that Thailand will continue to expand cooperation with Kuwait in various aspects, especially trade, investment, and tourism.
