Recently, Dr.Savit Bhotiwihok, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office presided at the meeting of the Decentralization Sub-committee, at Government House.
The main points of the meeting were, as followed;
1. Government granted special budget of 500 million Baht for the Production and Employment Decentralization Fund, to conduct two activities according to the government guildlines. Those were;
- Stimulate income distribution in local economies and inject liquidity into local businesses. The prime condition is to promptly use the budget under the regulation set by the Decentralization Sub-committee.
- Provoke border economies. The Office of the NESDB completed the 4-region brainstorming seminars and gathered the recommendations, i.e. policies, regulations and agreements which would enhance the infrastructure projects. The border trade aims to increase trade among Thailand and neighboring countries.
2. The committee agreed upon the criteria and procedures to allocate the above budget, as followed;
Procedures
1. Selection and consideration of plan/project
- The Office of the NESDB shall consider and select a plan/project by cooperating with local and central government agencies together with local organizations prior to presenting the decision to chairman of the Decentralization Sub-committee for approval.
- Project frameworks shall cover various fields, e.g. agriculture, food processing industry, professional training, social services, tourism, minor infrastructure services.
2. Project propose
The details of each project shall be presented to the chairman of the Decentralization Subcommittee for approval and, afterward, the Subcommittee for acknowledgement.
