NESDB organized Brainstorming of the Prtovincial-level Ninth Plan Preparation Workshops

          The Office of the NESDB organized brainstorming of the provincial-level Ninth Plan preparation workshops with participation from all professional groups of people nationwide in January 2000.  This is the continuous process of people participation at the regional and local level for Economic and Social Development planning.  It is considered as the broader prospects than the 8th Plan brainstorming process.
Mr.Sansern Wongcha-um, Secretary-General of NESDB stated that this aforementioned workshop is entitled as "Vision and Guideling for Development of people at the provincial level during the Ninth Plan." For the province of great number of popultion, more than one workshop will be organized. More than 100 workshops will be organized promptly nationwide which the first workshop will be held at Mukda Han Province on January 5th, 2000.
Regarding the workshop management, the Local Development Institution (LDI) is assigned by the NESDB to be the coordination center through the LDI networks which are located in every province. These workshops will be conducted to suit the peple in each area.
Participants in each workshop consisted of several groups of profession including representatives form local administration agency, from provincial Development Committee and from the Tambon working group, representatives from other professionals businessmen, academicians and media.
The Secretary-General finally stated that after the provincial-level workshop, the brainstorming for subregional-level workshop will be organized by the NESDB in February 2000. In this regard, the representatives chosen from each province will participate in the 9 subregional-level workshops. The first and second National seminar will be organized in April and September 2000, respectively.
