On February 11th, 2000, Dr.Sippanondha Ketudat, Chairman of the National Economic and Social Development Board and Mr.Sansern Wongcha-um, Secretary General of NESDB, gave warm welcome to Mrs. Nane Annan on the occasion of corning to Thailand and visited Khet Yannawa Community as Part of participation in THAI-UNCAP progress, to enhance the potentiality and efficiency of social development.
Mrs. Nane and delegates also visited the community welfare project which was established in August 1998 and aimed to solve the economic and social problems of this community such as health, unemployment.
Among those chidren in community center, Mrs. Nane thanked for the warm welcome and expressed admiration on the Community strong support especially, for women power. Eventually, she pointed out that the children are very important and will be futher of the country.
This THAI-UNCAP pilot project facilitated development process which conformed with the Bangkok metropolitan administration development policies, that solicits collaboration from multiparties such as UNICEF, UNDCP, UNFRA UNIFEM, UNDP, NESDB, Pattanathai Foundation and so on.
