Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) celebrated another fruitful and successful 2010 with Thai partners as they continue to embrace hit properties including Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and Gwen, making Thailand CNE’s No.1 market, as well as the No.1 market for Bandai toy sales in Southeast Asia. Thailand also captured the No.1 spot in CNE’s home entertainment business growth in the region with over one million units of DVDs and VCDs sold.

Ltd., Adda (Thailand) Public Company Limited and Siam Commercial Bank PLC. also bagged top honors at the Cartoon Network Enterprises Awards held recently in Bangkok during its annual Roadshow, as CNE presented them with Highest Retail Sales, Best Marketing Campaign, Best Product Development and Best Launch Campaign awards for 2010.

Looking ahead, the No.1 kids’ channel across Asia Pacific is showing no signs of slowing down as CNE continues to work closely with Thai partners to bring fans an electrifying line up of new initiatives, products, and franchises.

Recording over 20 million Ben 10 product sales during 10.10.10. — the biggest Ben 10 campaign ever, Ben 10 has seen five years of successful and consecutive growth in Asia Pacific since launch, achieving over US$1 billion in global toy sales and selling over 7.3 million units of console games. In Thailand, promotional partner — Calbee Bun Bun — sold over four million packs of snacks with Ben 10 premiums within three months. 2010 also saw the successful launch of Ben 10 and Ben 10 Alien Force magazines in Thailand, with over 700,000 copies sold to date. Thai kids also joined over 42 million kids in Asia Pacific to celebrate the premiere of Ben 10: Ultimate Alien on air, online and on ground in 10.10.10. Keeping up the momentum, there’ll be more of Ben 10 in Thailand — be it on TV, online, in malls, stores or theaters. With more new content development, seasons, products…etc on the way, Thai fans are invited to be part of Ben Tennyson’s never-ending adventures every day.
As Cartoon Network promises to introduce inject more fun and excitement into Thai kids’ lives with more new franchises, hot newcomer — Generator Rex — will take centre stage and show fans how saving the world is all in a day’s work. As the latest power-packin’ hero from the creators of global phenomenon Ben 10, Generator Rex has already proved a huge hit in the U.S. with its 2010 debut topping its timeslot on all television among kids 2-11. Launched on Cartoon Network across Asia Pacific in January 2011, the series is an awesome story of good vs. evil and reconciling teenage instincts with hero ambition — all set against a futuristic backdrop that is sure to appeal to tech-savvy kids today. CNE will work closely with global partner Mattel to roll-out a series of toys to get kids animated and experience a “Rex-treme” life!
With more than 130 million products featuring fans’ favorites such as Gwen, The Powerpuff Girls and Chowder sold at retail, CNE reached over 200 million consumers across Asia Pacific in 2010. CNE also extended its pan-regional “Is there a Gwen in You” Search to Thailand to look for one girl who best represented Gwen locally, and named Natalie Khaoroptham as Thai Gwen! Girl power is still stronger than ever as Gwen continues to roll out its exclusive collection for girls offering a fresh and dynamic alternative to kids’ apparel and accessories in 2011. The Powerpuff Girls — re-energized with an all-new design — will continue to save the world before bedtime with new toy ranges, gaming consoles, home entertainment, accessories, clothing, footwear, stationery items and more! Toonix, a brand-new property, is also available on CartoonNetwork.co.th to encourage creative kids to express themselves like never before through their very own cool creations. With over 400 million possible combinations available globally and more than 160 million currently available in Asia Pacific, Toonix are fully customizable byte-sized avatars that come in all sorts of colors and funky accessories.
