In support of Planet 21’s project of increasing awareness about the environment, VIE Hotel Bangkok by Accor took part in the ‘Hug A Tree’ campaign. To this end, the hotel organised a fun and engaging activity to raise funds that will be used to plant new trees. The ‘Hug A Tree’ campaign asked hotel guests and other members of the public to spread their love for the environment by hugging and photographing themselves with VIE Hotel’s human tree for a small donation of THB 100 that would be used to plant trees in Khao Yai National park.
Planet 21’s collaboration with VIE Hotel Bangkok and Accor continues with a unique reforestation project. Hotel guests now have the option of reusing their towels, with half the savings on laundry bills then allocated for various tree planting projects. The formula is “5 towels reused = 1 tree planted.” Accor has already planted two million trees as part of a global reforestation project supported by the United Nations, and VIE Hotel Bangkok’s Hug A Tree campaign will contribute to the growing number of trees planted.
