SOLARIS Asset Management Company announced today that it is realigning its business focus, tapering down some of its more aggressive funds as global and local market conditions change. The shift in focus is intended to meet future market needs in line with changing global investment trends.
"Over the past six months we have slowly wound down several of our more aggressive funds due to changing market conditions," a source at SOLARIS stated. "We will continue to offer investment products and funds for our clients, but these funds will be more nuanced and specifically tailored to their investment style," the source noted.
As the world economy continues to show signs of improvement, and corporate earnings, particularly in emerging markets, are expected to improve in 2017, more investors are returning to equities as an investment choice over short-and- medium-term mutual funds. Of particular interest are stocks in the energy, materials, financial services and consumer discretionary products sectors.
"As market conditions change, we must keep abreast of such developments, and occasionally existing products do not meet the revised investment needs of our clients," the source said. "They are looking for alternative investment instruments beyond the short and medium-term funds we offered previously. As demand for those products has dropped, we have slowly phased them out," the source stated.
