CKPower Tightens Its Control on Power Plants' Operations in Thailand and Lao PDR, Ensuring an Uninterrupted Production Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic

Mr. Thanawat Trivisvavet, the Managing Director of CK Power Public Company Limited (CKPower), or "CKP" in SET announced that CKPower is aware of the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, it is prepared to implement strict measures to ensure heightened health safety standards for its employees and work sites. In this regard, the Company has already declared preventative measures on occupational health and hygiene covering all its power plants. In Thailand, this includes the Bangpa-in Cogeneration Power Plants (BIC-1 and BIC-2) and the Bangkhenchai Solar Power Plant. Meanwhile, in the Lao PDR, the Company's operations include the Xayaburi Hydroelectric Power Plant and the Nam Ngum 2 Hydroelectric Power Plant. These preventative and disease control measures are implemented in order to maintain confidence and safety among the employees as well as among the stakeholders that power delivery to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and Electricite du Laos (EDL) as well as other industrial consumers will be produced as scheduled without being affected by the pandemic.

There are 3 key principles in the disease control measures of the Company that are applied to all operating power plants: 1) A lockdown (no entry-no exit) where food and lodging would be provided to employees and contractors within the power plants' area; 2) A secondary team of staffs for operations and maintenance of the power plants, which will be in partnership with EGAT and Electricite du Laos (EDL) in order to reduce the risk of infection; and 3) Supplementary benefits on healthcare and vaccination for employees.

"I would like to guarantee that every power plant operating under the management of CKPower is working at its full capacity to deliver electricity to Thailand and the Lao PDR uninterrupted. As for the health-related issues within the area of the power plants, our employees are strictly following the announcements and guidelines put out by the Ministry of Public Health so that we can ensure continuous production and delivery to our clients in both countries.", said Mr. Thanawat in the final remark.
