Yanmar supports annual

YANMAR S.P. Co., Ltd, a leader in agricultural machinery technology in Thailand and farmers in Boonruang Village, in Thailand's northern Chiang Rai province led by Mr. Sumeth Cheen Namsai, a village leader, took part in the annual activities of the Boonruang Wetland Forest Conservation Group of Thailand.  The villagers used 20 Yanmar tractors to condition the soil surface in the community forest park to maintaining healthy soil, support soil fertility and prevent erosion.

For this activity, a group of volunteer farmers use tractors equipped with implements to develop this area 2-3 times a year. This example of strong community involvement in conservation activities was recognized with an international environmental award on the World Environment Day by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

"Yanmar is always excited to be working with local communities to support sustainable agriculture," said Mr. Thachapon Chawinthanachot, Yanmar's Marketing Manager. "We will continue to look for opportunities to create value for farmers and support the local environment".
