Yanmar SP Company Limited, a leader in agricultural machinery technologies in Thailand collaborated with Kla-Krang Company Limited, a producer and distributor of quality rice seeds, to demonstrate rice transplanting using the new Yanmar rice transplanters at a field demonstration in Nakhon Sawan. The demonstration aimed to showcase the performance of Yanmar's latest model of rice transplanters, the 6-row YR60D and 8-row YR80D. Developed for Thailand's paddy fields, the highly fuel efficient rice transplanters can travel smoothly through muddy rice paddy fields. The picking precision levels are adjustable for transplanting of seedling clumps at the correct depth, even in sloped areas, allowing farmers to work faster and more smoothly.
Mr. Thatchapon Shawinthanachoti, Yanmar's Marketing Manager, stated that the collaboration emerged from Yanmar's commitment to production of high quality rice, reduction of seedling loss rates, and support of knowledge exchange with farmers through the field demonstration while Kla-Krang, an expert in rice cultivars, also planned to develop quality rice varieties and planting tools that help deliver good yields from fewer rice seedlings.
Mr. Thatchapon added that the rice tranplanters are equipped with Yanmar's patented 19 HP 3 cylinders TNM diesel engine. The engine is more powerful, durable and economical. Farmers do not have to worry about the transplanters getting stuck in mud. The engine can work continuously at high output without overheating, enabling quick transplanting in a wide range of field conditions while realizing fuel savings. More importantly, Yanmar rice transplanters can consistently transplant seedlings without the need for speed reduction, making them more convenient for usage. As well as offering a high quality product, Yanmar offers a thorough aftersales service Yanmar service centers opened to accommodate farmers' needs during the rice planting season in the Central and Northern regions especially in Nakhon Sawan, U-thai Thani and Chiangrai where high quality rice is grown.
