KASIKORNBANK (KBank) has won four world-class marks of recognition from IDC Future Enterprise Awards 2021. It is the first Thai bank to be named "Future Enterprise of the Year" of 2021 for Thailand and the Asia Pacific region.
Ms. Kattiya Indaravijaya, KBank Chief Executive Officer, said, "KBank has won four world-class awards from IDC Future Enterprise Awards 2021. The Bank is the first bank in Thailand that has received "Future Enterprise of the Year" awards of 2021 for Thailand and the Asia Pacific region in recognition of our business direction towards a Bank of Sustainability, guided by our K-Strategy that focuses on Customer Centricity with the aim of empowering every customer's life and business. KBank has prioritized the enhancement of new capabilities for its organization, technologies, products and services, and human resources that cover eight transformation journeys, thus reenforcing KBank's role as a major mechanism in steering the country's economic, business and social systems towards a thriving digital economy. KBank also won two more awards, "Best in Future of Digital Infrastructure Thailand" and "Best in Future of Industry Ecosystems Thailand", for its continuous development of digital technology, which has been used to create an array of financial products and services that play an important role in customers' businesses, work and lifestyles.
The IDC Future Enterprise Awards are organized by International Data Corporation (IDC), the world's leading data analysis and technology research company. Its central unit, which acts as the judging committee, comprises experts from various fields including analysts, academics and representatives of the world's leading industrial and business sectors, The four awards presented to KBank are:
- Two Future Enterprise of the Year awards, at the Asia Pacific and national levels: KBank became the first Thai bank to receive the Future Enterprise of the Year award in 2021, in recognition of its core K-Strategy that aims to constantly enhance new capabilities through digital technology for its organization, other technologies, products and services, and human resources. Such capacities cover eight transformation journeys that can both link with and meet the needs of everyone within the business supply chains, including customers, leading partners and various businesses. Such capacities have presented opportunities for the Bank to develop new businesses while also creating sustainable benefits for the country's economic system, business and society.
- Best in Future of Digital Infrastructure Thailand: This award was granted to KBank for its key strategy of raising and developing the potential of technological infrastructure for domestic and international connectivity, in order to deliver a seamless experience and expand business reach to new customers. Two outstanding financial services are 1) International Funds transfer feature of K PLUS which is currently available in 14 currencies and supports funds transfer to 32 countries worldwide; and 2) Digital technology for identity verification, namely K-ID Platform and K CHECK ID, which improves customers' access to financial services without having to visit a KBank branch, and thus broadens the existing customer base.
- Best in Future of Industry Ecosystems Thailand: KBank was granted this award for its outstanding technology that provides linkage of financial services between its partners' platforms and the K PLUS application. This comprises two services, namely, 1) Grab Pay Wallet (Powered by KBank), in which KBank collaborates with Grab to create new service experiences by linking users across digital lifestyle ecosystems, including customers, delivery riders, merchants and Grab agents; and 2) linkage of CU Savings COOP - the application of Chulalongkorn University Savings Cooperative Limited - with K PLUS, which allows members of the CU Savings COOP to deposit and withdraw funds from savings accounts of the Cooperative via K PLUS more quickly and conveniently.
