Awarded by the Department of Industrial Works, the CSR-DIW award was presented to 63 companies from a total of 75 applicants in Thailand. The award reinforces URC Thailand's focus on embracing the welfare of Thai employees, communities, and environments while continuing to "Delight Everyone with Good Food Choice".
Mr. Tanant Suwanraks, General Manager of URC (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said, "We are pleased to be recognized and presented the CSR-DIW award. The award not only reflects our social contributions, but it is also a commitment for us to strive better in the future. As a food product manufacturer, sustainable practices from sourcing to manufacturing guide us to achieve our social responsibility goals while supporting the local community. In the heart of our business, URC is committed to delight Thai consumers with good food choices."
Further to our strong commitment in delivering high-quality food products, URC Thailand is going above and beyond to assist Thais in overcoming various social issues by focusing on people and community, climate, water, product, packaging, and sourcing.
This year, the company has put together some initiatives to embrace the welfare of Thai employees, communities, and environments.
Employees come first - As a part of URC's to put its people first, the company introduced the 'URC FIT' program for our employees. It is a health program that includes training sessions and fun workout activities to keep our employees mentally and physically healthy, further allowing URC to provide the best products and services for its customers.
Standing beside communities - URC's efficient operations are supported by the strong communities that surround us. Seeing the need to provide guidance for Covid-19 prevention, the company has provided useful VDO trainings on Covid-19 prevention and how to make alcohol gel for Banaomronghip school in Samutsakorn province, which is located in the Bannnaom community near the URC Factory area.
Putting environment at heart - One of the company's key efforts is to address environmental concerns. URC Thailand has announced the Solar Roof project, which will be able to produce around 8.3 million kWh of electricity in one year. With that amount, it will also reduce 4,855 ton CO?e in Carbon Dioxide levels, which is the main cause of Global Warming. The company was also honored by receiving the Zero Waste Achievement, 3RS, and 3RS+ awards in 2020 from the Department of Industrial Work, Ministry of Industry for its effective waste management system.
