The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB organized a press conference to announce the opening of the Thailand MICE One Stop Service in online format at www.thaimiceoss.com. The website will provide information and regulations to Thailand's MICE operators and facilitate those seeking permits and certificates for MICE events. To mark the occasion, TCEB also held a talk entitled "A new step for Thai MICE?The Now and Next of MICE in Thailand".
Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of TCEB, explained that TCEB has significantly changed its role from sponsor to facilitator for MICE operators with the establishment of the online coordination center. This will enhance the competitiveness of operators in Thailand's MICE industry and is in line with the national strategy, which promotes Thailand as a destination for mega international MICE events.
"TCEB is planning to bid for high-potential work rights and draw world-class events and mega international trade shows to be organized in Thailand on a continuous basis. Over the years, the MICE (meeting, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) industry has brought high-value revenue to the Thai economy. In 2019, the MICE industry generated 559.84 billion baht, equivalent to 3.27% of GDP. The MICE industry employed 321,918 people.
Mrs. Supawan Teerarat, Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development and Innovation of TCEB, said that convenience was key to push Thailand as a leading MICE destination.
