TCEB establishes online MICE coordination center to strengthen the industry with the launch of www.thaimiceoss.com

TCEB has unveiled www.thaimiceoss.com, Thailand's MICE One Stop Service, to facilitate both local and international MICE operators in a bid to strengthen and increase competitiveness of Thai MICE industry

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB organized a press conference to announce the opening of the Thailand MICE One Stop Service in online format at www.thaimiceoss.com. The website will provide information and regulations to Thailand's MICE operators and facilitate those seeking permits and certificates for MICE events. To mark the occasion, TCEB also held a talk entitled "A new step for Thai MICE?The Now and Next of MICE in Thailand".

Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of TCEB, explained that TCEB has significantly changed its role from sponsor to facilitator for MICE operators with the establishment of the online coordination center. This will enhance the competitiveness of operators in Thailand's MICE industry and is in line with the national strategy, which promotes Thailand as a destination for mega international MICE events.

"TCEB is planning to bid for high-potential work rights and draw world-class events and mega international trade shows to be organized in Thailand on a continuous basis. To compete at the international level, the online coordination center www.thaimiceoss.com is vital as it helps facilitate the MICE industry, making the organization of every MICE event in Thailand easy. The center will elevate Thailand and make us highly competitive as a major destination for global MICE events. It will also create opportunities for the Thai economy and generate revenue," the TCEB president said.

Over the years, the MICE (meeting, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) industry has brought high-value revenue to the Thai economy. In 2019, the MICE industry generated 559.84 billion baht, equivalent to 3.27% of GDP. The MICE industry employed 321,918 people.

Mrs. Supawan Teerarat, Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development and Innovation of TCEB, said that convenience was key to push Thailand as a leading MICE destination. The establishment of www.thaimiceoss.com helps alleviate problems and inconvenience for MICE operators as it brings the regulations of 14 relevant government agencies to one place. Operators seeking to import goods or staff now need only make one stop online to begin their tasks quickly and smoothly.

Mr. Thanin Pa-em, Chairman of Government Coordination on MICE Service Providers Subcommittee of TCEB, said that the website, www.thaimiceoss.com, which is an important tool for Thailand's MICE industry, had been brought about thanks to the cooperation between government agencies and relevant sectors. This had turned crisis into opportunity by linking and bringing all related government services and businesses in one place thus promoting Thailand as a major international MICE destination.

Mr. Pravit Sribanditmongkol, President of Thai Exhibition Association, said that the coordination center is a brainchild of TCEB that is aimed at facilitating and providing flexibility and speedy services for entrepreneurs and MICE operators from abroad. Whether attending an academic conference, arranging a trip as travel or bringing exhibition products into Thailand, it was now possible to go to the website and find speedy information on such matters as visa applications and importing goods or souvenirs. Uses would no longer have to waste time by going through various agencies to find the information they need. The website would certainly create a good impression among all international travelers.

The website www.thaimiceoss.com is the coordination center to facilitate the MICE industry and provides information to operators in both Thai and English. Content includes all the rules and regulations of which MICE organizers must be aware if they plan to bring people or import products into Thailand for the event, such as visa applications, customs formalities and tax payment. The website is designed to be modern and user friendly, and provides updates on the situation in Thailand that matter to the MICE industry.
