The chef at Thonglor Thai cuisine is retooling the Sri Lankan prawn menu to showcase her creativity starting at 799 baht.
All jumbo prawns are flown in from Sri Lanka weighing approximately 300-400 grams each. While the permanent menu is focused on the finest ingredients, taste and flavors, and the authenticity of royal Thai cuisine, the 4 new prawn creations highlight cooking techniques as well as contemporary appeal that modernizes classic dishes. The first one is grilled river prawns with neem leaves, which are rich in Vitamin E and have the ability to treat a fever. Prawns are grilled until all delicious juices come out. (899 baht) On to the next one is grilled river prawns served with seafood dressing and priced for 799 baht. Prawns are char grilled over a medium-hot fire with lid covered. If you are stuck with choices, go for the half-and-half option. A prawn is cut in half. One side is cooked with various spices and lets Thai herbs such as galangal, ginger, and lemongrass take center stage while the other side is sauteed with garlic and black pepper. (899 baht) Last but not least is grilled prawn fried rice served with lotus stems and steamed mackerel in coconut soup at 999 baht.
