Flash Express has signaled its foray into the ASEAN market with the launch of "Flash Express Malaysia" together with plans to cultivate a team of 4,000 professionals and its free-pickup-at-your-doorstep plus 365-days-a-year service policy.
Mr. Komsan Lee, CEO of Flash Express Co., Ltd., the Thai fully integrated delivery service provider, stated that Flash Express is moving forward with its plans to expand its business to cover the entire ASEAN market. Most recently, it unveiled Flash Express Malaysia, which officially offers services to 3 ASEAN countries (namely the Philippines, Laos and Malaysia). Malaysia, in particular, is yet another nation that is experiencing exponential growth in the area of e-commerce, thanks to its internet penetration rate of 89.6%. The Malaysian government also actively supports online trade, an example being the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDIGITAL), which serves as guidelines for transforming the country into a high-income digital economy. The overall picture and online market trends in Malaysia point to 45% of consumers, on average, increasing their online purchases to as high as 65%. The result has been very conducive market conditions for Flash's entry as a fully-integrated e-commerce service provider.
"Malaysia is looking at astronomical growth in terms of e-commerce and has one of the highest levels of purchasing power in ASEAN. Recognizing this overall potential, we decided to take our already successful Thai business model and adapt it to the Malaysian consumers' behavior and demands. Furthermore, we continue to uphold our policy of free pickup at the client's doorstep available 365 days a year together with our iconic worthwhile prices and premium services. And with IT, including user-friendly applications, we provide customers with convenience, reduced contact and travel, and the ability to track parcels and check delivery fees."
Other than its fully-integrated delivery services, Flash Malaysia offers other means of customer assistance covering the complete e-commerce spectrum. These cover the supply chain to finance and technology (under Flash AI) and the company will also incorporate newer services in the future.
At the moment, Flash Malaysia has 10 distribution hubs as well as over 100 delivery service stations nationwide. It also aims to increase its current number of employees from approximately 4,000 to 10,000 by the end of 2022. Most importantly, it handles more than 30,000 deliveries on average per day and, based on business since its opening at the end of 2021, it expects this figure to increase even further. Malaysia is the third ASEAN country Flash Express has expanded to after the launch of its services in Laos and the Philippines.
