Since 2002, OR has expressed its appreciation towards the tradition of a local drum called Kong Puja, a unique identity of Lampang, and this year marks the 20th anniversary of the annual 'Kong Puja of the Lampang City' tradition. The celebration reflects the spirit of good citizenship to carry on the long-standing culture. On this occasion, OR has sponsored the creation of 117 sets of new Kong Puja drums so as to be used in an event held on April 10, 2022, at Khuang Nakhon (Clock Tower Intersection), Mueang Lampang District, Lampang Province.
On April 10, 2022, Mr. Sitichai Jindaluang, Governor of Lampang Province, together with Mr. Soontorn Chursuk, Senior Executive Vice President, Petroleum Terminal Operations, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited, or OR, attended the opening ceremony of the "Miraculous Kong Puja, Fabulous Lampang City"event, which is part of Salung Luang Local New Year Festival 2022, organized by the cooperation of the Lampang Provincial Cultural Office, Lampang Provincial Cultural Council, Kong Puja Association, and Lampang Folk Performing Arts. OR realized the importance of preserving and restoring the Kong Puja local drum, which is a valuable tradition of Lampang people. The original forms and authentic senses of the ancient instrument have been preserved and maintained while, at the same time, it is contemporary and features some elements that draw international attention. The Company emphasizes the spirit of good citizenship in youths, encouraging them to carry on the tradition and further reflect the uniqueness of the society, community, and the environment. In the past, "Kong Puja" or "Worship Drum," was considered an instrument of higher social classes. It was used as a means to communicate with people in the community; for example, during Buddhist activities, shaving day, holy day, as well as other significant events, etc. In celebrating the occasion, OR has also sponsored 117 new sets of Kong Puja. Each was practically made from an oil barrel to reduce cutting down large trees for timber and covered with wood to form the outer layer. Featuring a concept that helps safeguard the environment, the newly-made Kong Puja drums will be given to Kong Puja Learning Centers in all 13 districts of Lampang Province.

In addition, the Company has reinforced good relationships with entities of different localities in which it is present. OR continues to facilitate activities that are beneficial to communities in Lampang Province; for example, scholarship awards for students living in the proximity of Lampang Petroleum Terminal, OR Free Oil Change Project, Cooking Gas Tank Checking Project, etc., all of which are aimed to ensure that OR can grow together with people in society and enhance the quality of life of the locals in a sustainable way.
