The Estee Lauder Companies are carrying on Evelyn H. Lauder's remarkable campaign against breast cancer and getting ready to start the 30th year of the Breast Cancer Campaign to raise awareness among all women worldwide. Through the collaboration with the National Cancer Institute to provide Mobile Digital Mammography services to various Bangkok community areas for underprivileged women around 600 people. As part of this initiative, everyone is invited to participate by purchasing pink products from various brands under The Estee Lauder Companies. After subtracting costs, the revenues from sales will be used to maintain the operations of independent research groups, medical services as well as public education initiatives.

In Thailand, Estee Lauder Companies has donated money to help cancer agencies for over 19 years. As a result, we have been able to raise more than 20 million baht that can be used to support research and education and enhance the capacity of medical services for breast cancer patients in Thailand. This year, to honor the 30th anniversary of the Breast Cancer Campaign, we want to raise the alarm for breast cancer proactively. That is why we have teamed up with the National Cancer Institute to deliver a mobile breast cancer screening vehicle to the community. So that women can come and monitor this disease free of charge."

Dr. Sakan Bunnag, Director of the National Cancer Institute, added, "On behalf of the National Cancer Institute, I would like to thank The Estee Lauder Companies for seeing the importance of raising awareness and preventing breast cancer together for more than 12 years. This year is even more special, for the 30th anniversary of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, we will arrange a Mobile Digital Mammography service to reach various communities. Breast cancer is a public health issue and a global concern because it can affect all women, especially those over 40. However, if detected early, there is a chance of being cured. Unfortunately, there are approximately 2.2 million new breast cancer cases worldwide and about 684,996 deaths. In Thailand, Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Thai women. There are about 17,043 new cases of breast cancer each year, or 47 cases per day, and 13 deaths per day, and the number is expected to increase to more than 22,000 in the next year1. Therefore, it is a disease that we should pay attention to reduce the chances of dying from this type of cancer."

Since 2008, the National Cancer Institute has implemented proactive breast cancer screening to produce high-resolution images using mobile Mammography ultrasounds and X-ray vehicles; the automated breast ultrasound scanner, which is suited for offering services in the community with adaptability and accessibility to the public.

However, the public can screen for breast cancer in several internationally standardized ways. Whether it is a monthly breast self-examination, A visit from a doctor or nurse at least once a year, or visits for examination by X-ray and ultrasound of the breast (Mammogram) for people aged 40 years and over or those who have a direct family history of breast cancer.

The Estee Lauder Companies would like to take in driving the quality of life for breast cancer patients on the worldwide campaign against breast cancer in October. We also encourage all women to pay attention and understand the importance of regular breast cancer screening. Furthermore, to reduce the severity of breast cancer and to drive and continue the intention of creating a society without breast cancer patients in the future.
