RX Tradex officially opened METALEX 2022 - No.1 Machine Tools & Metalworking Exhibition Serving ASEAN, consisting of six halls to connect over 85,000 metalworking industrialists across the world with more than 2,500 brands of high-tech metalworking machine tools and leaders of innovation from eight technologically advanced countries and administrative subdivisions. Approximately 6.5 billion baht in trade value is expected to be generated in the event.
Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry serving as the Chair of METALEX 2022's opening ceremony, said that the ASEAN region is full of market opportunities for machinery and technology providers because the manufacturing sector continues to grow. Some segments were disrupted during the COVID-19 pandemic, but they have already shown signs of recovery following the return of consumer demands worldwide. We also see the relocation of the production base of many automobile and electronic brands to this region. In addition, the 4.0 digital transformation, and the global rise of ESG ideology (Environmental, Social, and Governance), and what the Thai government has adapted into a BCG business model (Bio-Circular-Green Economy), have motivated manufacturers to consider the adoption of automated technology, remote work control, and redesigning some tasks to robots instead of manual labour for safety and productivity, all of which contribute to the growth trajectory of businesses and increase the level of competitiveness both on the local and international levels.
Mrs. Varaporn Dhamcharee, Managing Director of RX Tradex (formerly Reed Tradex), ASEAN's leading exhibition organizer, revealed that "This is the 36th edition of METALEX and its concept this year is ASEAN Community Connector. It is a major international exhibition that will connect industrialists with the latest machine tools and metalworking technologies, as well as sheet metalworking, wire, and tube fabrication technologies, industrial robots, and many more all under one roof. In addition to experiencing cutting-edge technology, metalworking industrialists across the ASEAN region can also attend seminar programs at the event to gain useful information that will help their businesses take on challenges and grow beyond expectation. The exhibition is now open for all visitors from today (November 16) to November 19, 2022, at BITEC. It is expected to attract more than 85,000 visitors and generate around 6.5 billion baht in trade value."
The exhibition floor is designed with different zones and exhibit profiles, including Machine Tools in Halls 102-103, Metrology, Tools & Tooling in Hall 101, and Sheet METALEX, Welding, Smart Wire & Tube to support Industry 4.0 and the latest wire, cable, high-performance pipe bending and cutting technologies from world-renowned brands in Hall 100.
Highlight technologies include Fiber Laser Machine from AMADA that is able to cut steel up to 32 mm thick and Machining Center from ENSHU that is easy to use and also saves space. Visitors will be able to connect with new technologies making debuts for the first time in Asia, ASEAN, and Thailand at METALEX 2022, including MAKINO Machining Center with high machining performance, speed, and accuracy, MAZAK Machining Center with built-in tilting rotary table for multi-surface 5-axis machining of complex shapes, and Water Cutting Machine from FLOW with efficient and accurate cutting up to +/- 0.05 mm/min.
There are International Pavilions zones which showcase state-of-the-art machine tools and metalworking technologies from eight countries and regions that are leaders in the world's technology, namely China, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan (R.O.C.). There are more than 20 seminar programs, such as "METALEX AI Forum 2022: The Role of AI in the Modern Industrial World," "The 10th Metallurgy Forum: Adaptation of Thailand's Aluminum Industry Towards a Circular Economy and Green Production," and "SmartMove: Driving and Developing Thai Vehicles."
In addition, RX Tradex is honored to host the "Cooperation Framework on Human Resource Development for Realizing Industry 4.0" ceremony during which Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Minister of Industry, will sign a memorandum of understanding with Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Mr. Nishimura Yasutoshi on November 16.
