UOB Thailand launches the Womenpreneur: Tech and Sustainability programme to empower female entrepreneurs and future-proof their business

UOB Thailand today announced the launch of Womenpreneur, a digital transformation programmed designed to equip female business owners with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in an ever-changing digital economy. Developed in collaboration with The FinLab Thailand, Thai Business Incubators and Science Parks Association (Thai-BISPA), O2O Forum and Reporter Journey, this initiative will provide 150 female entrepreneurs with access to training programmes and resources that will enable them to develop their digital capabilities.

The multi-faceted programme Womenpreneur: Tech and Sustainability is part of UOB's effort to support female entrepreneur and help them build businesses that are both sustainable and profitable.

The three-month curriculum provides participants with workshops led by experienced mentors who can offer advanced guidance on leveraging technology for improved business growth. In addition, women entrepreneurs will benefit from interactive networking sessions that stimulate collaboration among peers, allowing them to share their experiences within the community and create a successful and sustainable business venture. Participating entrepreneurs will also receive a complimentary trial on influencer marketing worth THB 5,000 from TellScore, one of the leading influencer consultancy and agency service.

According to Thailand's Trade Policy and Strategy Office, in Thailand, over 3 million Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) are mostly led by women, showing their importance for the country's economy. Despite their efforts to adapt during the pandemic, women-led MSMEs have faced major challenges such as lack of digital skills, online and content marketing, business connections, and mental health issues.

Ms Sirinun Jiradilok, Head of Digital Engagement and FinTech Innovation, UOB Thailand, said, "Women entrepreneurs in Thailand are making strides despite the lack of a favourable business environment. With this Womenpreneur programme, we help create an ecosystem to support women-led businesses, connecting them to their peers and opening doors to new opportunities. They should also have access to digital tools and guidance as they seek ways to embrace sustainability into their operations. This will future proof their enterprises and allow them to keep abreast with emerging market developments"

The Womenpreneur: Tech and Sustainability programme is open to female entrepreneurs who are willing to explore new ideas, embrace technology, invest in digital tools and commit their time throughout the three-month programme from March to May 2023. Interested women entrepreneurs, regardless of sector and turnover, can apply for the programme at www.facebook.com/uob.th or https://thefinlab.com/th/thailand till 25 March 2023.
