Introduced during the reign of King Rama IV, Khao Chae was traditionally reserved for royal residences and affluent homes due to its fine ingredients, preparation time, and culinary craftmanship.
Khao Chae is al dente jasmine rice soaked in jasmine-scented water served with savoury condiments including Deep-fried Dried Fish, Shrimp Paste Balls, Deep-fried Shallots stuffed with Minced Fish, and Stuffed Green Bell Pepper wrapped in an Egg Net.
