SEAC reinforces its leadership in fostering lifelong learning by introducing "SEAC's Smart Learning" innovation, a transformative learning approach to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application for people and organizations.

With the advent of advanced technology and digital transformation that makes the world evolve faster, human society has been forced to learn to adapt to the changing context of studying, living, and working. Knowledge and skills that are essential at a certain age may have a shorter shelf life and are not relevant anymore in today's working world. Many people, therefore, need to elevate their knowledge and skills for work and life to keep up with the changing world by learning from information updates through various channels and attending training courses offered by various institutions. However, with the limitations of the different potential of each learner and the theory-based learning nature of these courses which may not meet individual needs, leading to the loss of confidence in self-improvement, a big unsolved problem of today's society.

"Knowledge is everywhere, but we do not know how we can apply it", this is the big challenge of learning the old way.

Dr. Siraya Kongsompong, Senior Consultant, at SEAC, said that "The overall market for corporate training in Thailand, today is worth more than 20,000 million baht and continues to grow in a post-pandemic world where people are attempting to reskill themselves. Unfortunately, according to recent research, more than 75% of the learners did not feel that the training they attended was effective and more than 88% of them were unable to apply the new skills to their jobs. These figures are substantial compared to the number of learners and the amount of money that people are spending on the industry."

"To tackle these disadvantages, SEAC has launched "SEAC's Smart Learning" as our trademarked methodologies to reiterate our leadership in the people and organizational development market, which consists of 4Line Learning, 5Phase Development, and 6 Learning Labs. The key strength of this learning methodology is centered around how it resolves all the pain points of the traditional learning model by shifting to a more learner-centered approach and focusing on practical results with flexible learning methods for each individual as well as incorporating a real-world connection to help learners see how to apply the knowledge to their personal growth and career development. This allows the learners to appreciate the value of learning and its application, as well as concretely track and measure their behavioral development with toolsets, innovations, learning approaches, and a learning community where they can exchange experiences, build on and share ideas. The learners will gain more enjoyment, feel engaged with the learning sessions, pursue continuous learning, and be able to apply their knowledge to different contexts."

SEAC's Smart Learning - Innovative Learning Approach for the modern world

Arinya Talerngsri, Managing Director, and Founder of SEAC revealed that "To serve the purpose of creating a learning experience that truly engages learners and can be applied to each individual's real-life situation, SEAC believes that a hands-on learning experiences early in the course is one way to make that goal come true. We have therefore developed the '6 Learning Labs', which is a space for learners to engage in hands-on practice with six interventions. First, Unpacking - a lab that helps learners review and understand the content, tools, and models learned in depth and their real-life application. Second, S.T.A.R. Application & Reflection - set a goal and determine how to take action and learn through practice by using the S.T.A.R. (Situation, Try, Actions, Result & Reflect) model. Third, Skills Practice - Acting out' current situations to help build confidence before actual

application where learners can practice on specific topics or use tools. Fourth, Coaching - experts provide tools and support learners to achieve their goals and track the progress of the target that coaches and learners have set together. Fifth, Impact Presentations - a lab for learners to apply what they learn to real-life working through an assignment or project and get back to present the positive outcomes and tools applied, reflecting the results obtained from learning and practicing. And sixth, Communities of Practice - exchange of knowledge, skills, and experience to figure out guiding practices that create a sustainable change in the learning community."

"In the modern world, posing a problem to design a learning program so that people can apply what they have learned in real-life situations is not 'who - what to learn - how to conclude', but 'what and why to learn - how to learn - how to apply what they learn'. Learners need to understand and have the confidence that learning will bring them good results and help them track their behavior for setting goals to advance themselves to the next level through sharing and learning together in a community, leading to the development of mindset and skillsets that connect various content with the real-world context of the learners, bringing positive results for their daily life and working life concretely. SEAC has leveraged '4 Lines' as a tool to effectively generate results,  no matter when, how, and where the learning takes place, which consists of OnLine - learn by yourself through online platforms, anytime, anywhere; InLine - in-person group class with experts - where participants can interact with each other and connect content to the real-life situation; FrontLine - learn by doing from a collection of tools and community for real-life application; and BeeLine - a learning community where participants can share experiences and results of bringing what they have learned to extend knowledge to each other. Currently, we are reframing tools and paradigms with our partners to create and offer "Smart Learning Resources" that completely meet various needs of learners," added Arinya.

How to convert a failed organization into a smart organization?

Elaborating on the core of designing and developing learning experiences that leads to practical results, James R. Engel, Chief Learning Architect, SEAC, said that "SEAC has provided training to more than 2 million learners and created a course success rate of up to 77%. 95% of learners said they could apply knowledge and skills for a better change. As we strive to 'Empower Lives through Learning, SEAC's Smart Learning will provide a new learning solution that leads to positive changes from the fundamentals of life to organization transformation with 6 key indicators, as follows:

  • Context: As the world's famous entrepreneur, Gary Vaynerchuk once said, "If content is king, then context is God.", we therefore focus on tangible results and design learning experiences based on the context and learner needs.
  • Application: Emphasis is placed on helping learners relate content to their context and apply it in real-life scenarios.
  • Flexibility and Commitment: A wide variety of learning methods and skill acquisition channels are available, offering students options and flexibility and increasing their commitment to learning more.
  • Real focus on idea sharing: Leverage technology to connect learners, facilitating them to share ideas and practice together.
  • Support: Use technology to provide 'in the flow of work/application' support.
  • Start with their world: Help each learner see where they are and what they need from learning.
  • "We all know that traditional learning may not lead to real-world application. Shortly where AI will play a greater role as our helper and tutor, it depends on us to advance ourselves to be ready and wisely seize smarter opportunities, or let things take us backward. The pivotal core of people and organization development in the modern world is practical learning solutions that allow learners to apply knowledge in real-life and create long-lasting impact in work and life," added James.
