The Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), the world's most impactful FinTech event, brought the SFF experience to the Techsauce Global Summit 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand on 17 August 2023.
Taking over the FinTech stage at Asia's leading tech conference, SFF held court with a series of sessions under the theme of "Data-driven ESG: Empowering Sustainability and Inclusion with AI", closing with an exclusive SFF Spotlight networking session hosted by Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief FinTech Officer of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elevandi. The event was part of the Singapore FinTech Festival Roadshow, a series of in-person experiences bringing together FinTech communities across Asia ahead of the main event happening in Singapore from 15 - 17 November 2023.
The intersection of AI, ESG, and Innovation
Aligned with SFF 2023's theme of "Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Financial Services", the SFF Roadshow in Bangkok covered key topics that provided attendees with a comprehensive view of the current and future landscape of data and AI in the financial sector. Kicking off the roadshow was the fireside chat titled "Navigating Responsible Deployment: A Regulatory Chat on AI" featuring Sopnendu and Daranee Saeju, Assistant Governor of the Risk Management Group, Bank of Thailand. Together, they explored serious ethical considerations, regulatory frameworks, and best practices needed to ensure the responsible use of AI technologies in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape.
The fireside chat was followed by the panel discussion, "Data and AI in Banking: Powering the Transition to a Low-Carbon Future" with banking leaders to shed light on the transformative potential of data and AI in the fight against climate change. Moderated by Jaskaran Bhalla, Head of Content of Elevandi, panelists included Wong Yuen, Chief Sustainability Officer of UOB Thailand; Tanwa Arpornthip, Senior Technical Advisor of SCB 10X; Omar Selim, Founder & CEO of Arabesque; and Thadpong Pongthawornkamol, Managing Director of Kasikorn Business Technology Group (KBTG).
The last panel discussion, "Harnessing Technology: Enabling Financial Products for Global Accessibility," was joined by industry experts who shared how data-driven insights and AI technologies are driving financial innovation, fostering inclusivity, and paving the way for affordable financial solutions on a global scale. Moderated by Chonladet Khemarattana, President of the Thai FinTech Association, panelists included Yuhong Mu, Director of Solutions at Ant Group; Aung Kyaw Moe, Founder & Group CEO of 2C2P; and Nutthawadee Sae-Iah, Head of Strategy & Business Innovation of TrueMoney Co., Ltd. and Deputy CEO of Ascend Wealth Mutual Fund Brokerage Securities Co., Ltd.
The road to Singapore FinTech Festival 2023
The SFF Roadshow will continue to provide opportunities for meaningful engagements and impactful collaborations with local FinTech communities as it makes its way across Asia in the lead-up to this year's Singapore FinTech Festival. The next SFF Roadshow event will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 23 August 2023.
