Alodia Co., Ltd. is a Thai-French spa products company that was founded in 2007 by Francois, his wife Thitima, and Thitima's older sister Chotima. Over the past 16 years, Alodia's commitment to quality and focus on customer service has been unwavering.Alodia initially started as an import-export company, trading in oil, rice bran oil, and coconut oil."Some customers started to ask if we could supply specialty oils. Unfortunately, Thailand's specialty oils industry is not very developed. I met however a lot of small suppliers some of them passionate about their products, but they could not meet the expectations of our international customers" he recalls.
"Francois says that he was inspired to start Alodia after seeing gaps in the Spa supply chain in Thailand and decided to try to sell their products to local spa products manufacturers"At the time, everybody was looking for cheap supplies. So that wasn't very successful.Inspired by his friendIsabelle Ferrand, the owner of Cinquieme Sens in Paris, a well-known Olfactory Training & Consulting company. They decided to give it a try and manufacture massage oils by themself.Luckily, their first samples were well received by a few hotels, and Alodia Co., Ltd.'s spa manufacturing activity was born.
Around that time, he also learned to distillate essential oils to understand them better and to be able to better select his suppliers. Later in Alodia Co., Ltd.'s development, when they started manufacturing creams, they started to incorporate hydrosols in their recipes. This is a practice that they continue to this day to improve product texture, scent, or increase product efficiency. They distillates hydrosols from bamboo, lemongrass, ginger, kaffir lime and leaves, Leelawadee, aloe vera, and more. When Alodia Co., Ltd. arrived in the market, there were new comers every month often with unrealistic expectations or oversize egos.
Alodia's team decided early that to differentiate themselves, they would offer flexible and direct services as well as product customization."Spa business is no hard sale, spa treatment, massage is an art, especially in Thailand where it is deeply rooted in the culture," Muguet said. "It is also a manual process, adapted to each customer's body type and history or skin condition. The level of exigence from Spa operators is extremely high and it is through them, by listening to them, perfecting with them a product perfectly adapted to their need that we learned and perfected what we do today.
"This has become Alodia Co., Ltd.'s signature trademark, "Spa Signatures", and their company culture is a friendly and flexible service, listening and learning from their customers. With time, Alodia Co., Ltd. added products to cover all aspects of spa treatments. The recently launched facial product range is very well received by professionals, and their CBD massage oil is also doing nicely.
Today, Alodia Co., Ltd.'s products are trusted in hotels like Centara, Marriott or Shangri-La and Day spas across the country, covering almost all major spa operators. They export to a dozen countries, their biggest market being Japan. Beginning of this year, Alodia Co., Ltd. adapted their organization to the post-COVID market and the wellness evolution and paved the way for the new generation to take them further. Transmission is very important in their business, relationship with their customers, ingredients and product knowledge, everything takes time.
