The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) marked the SET Awards' 20th Anniversary under the theme of "Benchmark of Excellence" to reaffirm its position as the benchmark award of excellence that continuously elevates the Thai capital market. This year, 10 CEOs have been nominated for the CEO Awards, 79 companies for the Business Excellence Awards category and 50 companies for the Sustainability Excellence Awards category. The nominations demonstrate their ability to steer business towards potential and outstanding achievements amid the current situations with high uncertainties, while placing importance on sustainability and exemplifying model organizations in the capital market sector. SET will announce the winners and present the awards on November 21, 2023.
SET President Pakorn Peetathawatchai said that SET, in collaboration with Money & Banking magazine, has organized the SET Awards ceremony for the 20th consecutive year under the theme of "Benchmark of Excellence" to illustrate that it is the benchmark awards of excellence. The SET Awards aims to uplift the Thai capital market, and drive the Thai capital market towards success and sustainability in every facet. Moreover, the awards are in recognition of listed companies, securities companies, asset management companies, financial advisory firms, real estate investment trusts, as well as top executives of listed companies, with excellent performance in various areas.
"The SET Awards has been organized to recognize companies that are exceptional in both business potential and sustainability aspects amid the current situation surrounded by risk factors both locally and globally. They are considered exemplary organizations for other companies to develop organizational quality, initiate innovations, and deliver solid operating performance, while taking responsibility for the stakeholders, the environment, the society and the corporate governance (ESG), to pave the path towards sustainable growth. This is in line with SET's vision in developing the Thai capital market to benefit all sectors or "To Make the Capital Market 'Work' for Everyone". This year's SET Awards has shortlisted 10 top executives for the CEO Awards, 79 companies for the Business Excellence Awards category, as well as 50 companies for the Sustainability Excellence Awards category," added Pakorn.
Money & Banking magazine Editor-in-Chief Santi Viriyarangsarit, who is also the SET Awards' co-founder and one of the distinguished working team, said that the awards has made continuous progress over the past two decades. The rising number of applicants for both award categories every year demonstrates the intrinsic values well-accepted by all sectors in the capital market. Encouragingly, SET Awards will be an important motivation for companies in all sectors to further develop business excellence simultaneously with sustainability in every dimension.
The panel of honorary judges for the SET Awards 2023 consists of Chaiyawat Wibulswasdi, Seri Jintanaseri, Santi Viriyarangsarit, Yut Worachatthan, Patareeya Benjapolchai, Teeranun Srihong, Pakorn Peetathawatchai, Manpong Senanarong, Soraphol Tulayasathien, and Amnuay Jiramahapoka as secretary of this working group.
This year's awards are divided into two categories. The first one is the Business Excellence Awards for companies with outstanding capabilities in business operations and internal management that create continuous innovations enterprise-wide, and outstanding financial transactions in the capital market. The award category consists of eight awards: 1) Best CEO Awards, and Young Rising Star CEO Awards, 2) Best Company Performance Awards, 3) Best REIT Performance Awards, 4) Deal of the Year Awards, 5) Best Investor Relations Awards, 6) Best Innovative Company Awards, 7) Best Securities Company Awards, and 8) Best Asset Management Company Awards.
The other one is the Sustainability Excellence Awards for companies committed to creating sustainable business growth and value for the stakeholders, the society and the environment. The award category consists of two awards: 1) Sustainability Awards, and 2) Supply Chain Management Awards. Notably, there are also the prestigious SET Awards of Honor for companies or individuals who have maintained their excellence for three consecutive years or more.
