Miss Sireerat Corvanich (center to the right), Head of Credit Card Marketing Division, "KTC" or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, represented the company to handover 26,707,269 baht to Miss Arunee Achakulwisut (center to the left), Head of Private Sector Partnership Service, UNHCR. The funds were collected from KTC credit cardmembers who donated to UNHCR to help refugees through their credit cards with the redemption of KTC FOREVER points (every 1,000 points into a 100 baht donation). The event was held recently at UNHCR, Krung Kasem Road.
Miss Arunee from UNHCR stated, "UNHCR works for those who have been forced to leave their country due to war, conflict, and violence. We are here to help, protect, and find sustainable solutions for them. With more than 110 million people in this situation, ongoing donations are the most important and sustainable solution. This support allows them to start anew and regain hope in their lives.
UNHCR's humanitarian work provides comprehensive protection, and it relies on support from everyone. Support is vital to UNHCR's humanitarian missions, particularly in maintaining a steady flow of donations through KTC credit cards. This is essential because statistics reveal that people often remain in refugee status for an average of 17 years. A consistent flow of support will enable us to allocate a budget effectively to save the lives of refugees. UNHCR's efforts also prioritize aiding vulnerable groups, as 80% of refugees are women and children who require urgent protection. The KTC credit card donation channel offers a convenient and impactful way to create lasting change."
