This was the largest gathering yet. The procession theme color was red, symbolizing love universally. This parade celebrated the success of the marriage equality bill, led by over 100 diverse couples in wedding attire and the Foundation for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Rights and Justice (FOR-SOGI). Following them were Miss LGBT Thailand, Miss Magnetic Thailand, and Miss Trans Beauty Thailand. Besides the couples, there were also diverse family representatives, led by the Foundation for Creative Youth, showcasing warm families including same-sex parents with children. The parade concluded with the adorable Pet family or Pet Pride group, led by the charming dog influencers.
The costumes were as vibrant and spectacular as the first parade, with the drag community from DRAG BANGKOK, along with the Fetish & BDSM community, Drag Race Thai Fans (TBC), trans women from Miss Trans Thailand, Mister Tourism Thailand, and Mister Gay World Thailand, all donning elaborate feathered outfits. They marched proudly in the second Procession, "Love for Identity," which aimed to reflect the concept of "self-defined gender." The parade's theme color was yellow, from the non-binary and intersex pride flags, symbolizing the importance of legal recognition of gender identity and expression.This procession featured numerous drag icons, showcasing the strength and individuality of everyone, emphasizing the right to self-expression and identity. Adding to the fun were performances from mor lam idols, the Faculty of Communication Arts, and the College of Business Administration, Innovation, and Accountancy from Dhurakij Pundit University, along with the M Plus Foundation and the Foundation of Transgender Alliance for Human Rights. Their energetic performances made way for an unforgettable celebration.
The third procession, "Love for Dignity," had green as its theme color, symbolizing universal self-love and the dignity of being human, promoting non-discrimination based on differences such as disabilities, occupations, or sexual orientation. The parade was led by sex workers advocating for their right to work, represented by the Service Workers IN Group (SWING) in Bangkok. They were joined by the Faculty of Learning Sciences and Education and the Demonstration School of Thammasat University. Following them were the Gender Diversity Club of Phibunwittayalai School in Lopburi, the Five for All Foundation, the Student Affairs Division of Mahidol University, the Thamtang Group, and the I CAN THAILAND group, an LGBTQ deaf community with the slogan "Deaf People Can Do It." The parade also included the Workers' Union and the Foundation for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Rights and Justice. This parade aimed to highlight the importance of human dignity and equal rights for all, regardless of their differences.
The fourth Procession, "Love for Peace & Earth," had blue as its theme color, symbolizing peace. This parade aimed to call for global peace and support for LGBTQ+ individuals in conflict and war zones. It was led by the United Nations agencies in Thailand, the Asia Feminist LBQ Network, and the Asian Institute for Peace Studies. The parade featured beautiful formations by the Roller - Inline skate and Longboard group, participating for the second year to showcase the talents and potential of the LGBTQIAN+ community. The parade also campaigned for Peace & Earth, advocating for the protection of rights and natural resources for a just and equitable future for everyone, regardless of gender.
The fifth Procession, "Love for Freedom," featured purple as its theme color, symbolizing freedom and liberty of expression. Historically, purple was associated with the gay community, seen as differing from heterosexual norms. In this parade, purple represented courage in expressing thoughts, sexuality, gender identity and spirit. The procession included celebrities from the entertainment industry, LGBTQIAN+ series actors from Be On Group Entertainment, and the Thai Film Directors Association. It also featured sapphic and lesbian groups like GIRLxGIRL and Les Hi Bar, along with ILGA Asia, Miss Queen & Mister LGBTQ Deaf Thailand 2024, and Deaf Model Thailand 2024. These participants joined to add vibrancy and celebrate freedom of expression.
The parade may have ended, but the fun and joy continued with activities on the Bangkok Pride Stage in front of CentralWorld. This celebration of the LGBTQIAN+ was filled with vibrant entertainment, including concerts and spectacular shows by Tiffany's Show Pattaya and Miss Grand Show. Popular LGBTQIAN+ artists such as Waii Panthita, SIN SINGULAR, Thammachad, Hard Boy & Jai Sira performed, alongside a historical sex worker performance and speeches from the LGBTQIAN+ community. These events showcased the creativity and pride of the LGBTQIAN+ community. Support for pride events in all provinces and the nationwide celebration of marriage equality were highlighted in a speech by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. The festivities ran from 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
