Always innovative in its offer, Anantara brings the elevated tastes of Japanese fine dining to the remote setting of Koh Yao Yai, Thailand's last untouched paradise in the middle of Phang Nga Bay.
Drawing inspiration from its sister restaurant Tomi Sushi Omakase in Bangkok, Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas' Tomi highlights the riches of the ocean, serving only the highest quality fresh seafood from Thailand and Japan, fitting for a restaurant named after 'wealth and prosperity'.
Open for dinner each evening, guests are invited to take a seat at the 360? counter, affording a front seat to the skilled chefs in action. Each dish is presented with an absolute dedication to flavour, balance and artful presentation.
The menu consists of familiar favourites, as well as novel takes on traditional appetisers, soups, sushi, sashimi, maki, donburi and mains. Highlights include the Chawanmuchi with snow crab, sea urchin and truffle adding rich layers of flavour and intrigue; Kinmedai and sweet Hokkaido shrimp sushi; Chutoro, Otoro and Akami, all of which can be sampled with the chef's Bluefin Tuna Sashimi Platter; and Yakisoba topped with Phuket's very own lobster caught by local fishermen.
Leaving room for dessert is an imperative at Tomi, with homemade Japanese Cheesecake and Matcha Creme Brulee on offer. Each meal is accompanied by curated selections of green tea, and guests may wish to finish with sake out in the al fresco night overlooking the ocean.
Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas is home to an additional five restaurants and bars, including its signature Thai Pakarang and beachfront grill. For more information, or to make a reservation, please visit anantara.com/koh-yao-yai-phuket
